All of us grow up believing that we can control every aspect of our lives. It is one of the more difficult parts of becoming an adult when we start to realize that we actually can't control nearly as many things as we thought we could.

So in a world where we can control some things and not others what are we better off putting our energy towards? If you didn't get the answer straight away then I'm not even sure reading our book can help you, but, hopefully, it goes without saying that you are better off putting your energy towards the things you can control in life.

This is a simple truth that one needs to remind themselves with every day. I know this sounds obvious but one of the great strains on humanity is that we're obsessed with trying to control the things that we can't control and in the middle of our busy lives we often get distracted into trying to control things that we actually have zero impact over.

At The Bald Company we know what we can control and we know what we can't and that puts us in a great position of power. We use this power for good in the way that we teach and inspire other people to make positive changes in their lives.

Half the battle is knowing what to focus on so you can use the energy that you have to guarantee that you create the best version of yourself. Much of our time is spent on training others about what their time should be spent on and that always looks different for different people.

When you reflect on your day today, ask yourself, did I just focus on the things I can control? If the answer was 'no' (and it always tends to be) then you need to write down a list of the things that you focused on that were outside of your control.

Familiarize yourself with all the things that you just wrote down and tomorrow you're going to make a conscious effort to stop yourself from dedicating energy towards anything that you wrote down. The following night you can ask yourself the same question and see how many of the items appear on the same list as the previous night.

The good thing about this activity is that it will highlight to yourself the patterns that you are living through. Patterns are good because they can be addressed and they can be changed. We deal with people's patterns every day and we make sure we do everything we can to help them change them for the better.
